To welcome Qype into Brighton we had to think of something really special….

We began by thinking.

Then we rested.

Then we did some more thinking.

We thought that as Qype is all about the users – we make the content and fill the pages – then  the BIG Qype event in Brighton should be about the users. So we came up with the Open Mic Open House. We’ve got three floors of user submitted entertainment.

There will be live open mic music in  the basement, we’ve enlisted the help of three singer songwriters to keep it all moving along, feel free to bring your maraccas to claim your time in the spotlight. If you know any acoustic balladeers then pass the word to them, all are welcome.

Open mic poetry. We’ve found a very real, very published wordsmith to manage the microphone and the rest of the rhymes will be coming from… well that’s to be decided. Once again, all are welcome to step up to the mic.

Free Cocktails...

And finally, traditional karaoke. Taking responsibility for this room will be a Stephen Leppard, a man that has an uncanny ability to karaokeize. But of course the real star of this room will be …. you!

This is going to be big – we’re taking over the whole venue – so this is open to guests and non-Qypers.

There will be a free cocktail for the performers and for everyone else then it is 2for1 untill 10pm.
