O Brasil é lindo maravilhoso – Qype is going Brazilian!

We all know that Qype is growing faster than you can say “Caipirinha” and today we are delighted and excited to announce that Qype has launched its Premium package for Brazil, helping Brazilian businesses boost their online reputation. This also means even more reviews in Brazil from locals and visitors alike.

All of this good news has made us want to samba all the way to the nearest Cachaça bar to celebrate but instead we’re taking a look at the top 5 landmarks in Brazil, as rated by local Qype users.

Bondinho do Pão de Açúcar – Rio de Janeiro (Sugarloaf Mountain)

Rising 396 metres (1,299 ft) above the harbour, the name of this peak at the mouth of Guanabara Bay is said to refer to its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined loaf sugar. Andrednz (with help from Google Translate) says “Absurdly beautiful view of almost the entire city! Take extra batteries for your camera, because the place “asks” for photos!”

Museu da Língua Portuguesa, São Paulo (Portuguese Language Museum)

This interactive museum focuses on the Portuguese language with the goal of creating a living space on the Portuguese language, considered as the basis Brazilian culture, where it is possible to surprise the visitors with unusual facts about their mother tongue. Jutagliari says “In my opinion, one of the best museums in Sao Paulo. Always with new attractions, cheap or often free (depending on the day) and very interesting for those who enjoy Brazilian culture and art. I recommend!”

Cristo Redentor – Rio de Janeiro

Christ the Redeemer is the iconic statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro. It is considered the largest Art Deco statue in the world and the 5th largest statue of Jesus in the world.  In the words of Afellows, “what an amazing place with outstanding views. Definitely somewhere you must visit if in Rio de Janeiro – it is a great experience.”

Olinda, Recife

Described by Haan as, “well worth knowing… an ancient and very beautiful place”, Olinda is a historic city on Brazil’s northeastern Atlantic Ocean coast and features a number of major touristic attractions, such as a historic downtown area (World Heritage Site), churches, and the Carnival of Olinda, a popular street party with free admission.

Estação Ciência, Cultura e Artes, João Pessoa

Located in the city of João Pessoa, this centre of arts and culture is, in the words of HPSantos, “a truly spectacular place”  and has become an iconic image for the city.
